Gayla Morgan

Actor/Singer/Musician

Gayla Morgan has found a home onstage in Key West since moving from NYC in 2009, and the Waterfront is one of her favorite places to perform.  In the WFPH’s 2009–2010 season, she appeared in Let’s Twist Again, Randy Thompson and the Stars of Aqua Idol, and as Muriel in the Danny Weathers-directed Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.  This season, she’ll be back in It Takes Two and Danny will direct her again as Rona Lisa Peretti in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.  You’ll also see her at the Red Barn Theatre in Forbidden Broadway, and on the Tennessee Williams lobby stage on January 30th for her own cabaret of original music.

Gayla is also a musical theater writer—her first full-length musical was a finalist in the 2010 O’Neill competition, and recently received an Equity reading at the York Theater in NYC (MaryAMusical.com). Her other careers include playing violin for beach weddings (KeyWestViolinist.com) and working from her home as a copyeditor for educational materials.

Gayla loves the sunshine, the ocean, and the people of Key West, and is grateful every day to live in a place where “One Human Family” is more than just a motto. She spends her free time being unreasonably devoted to her perfect little Maltese, Aria, who has her own page at www.GaylaMorgan.com.
