12 Angry Men
Dec. 17 - Jan 9 - 8PM

Twelve men. Twelve walks of life. And only one possible decision: Guilty or Not Guilty. The Waterfront Playhouse presents "Twelve Angry Men" by Reginald Rose, arguably the best courtroom drama ever written. This gripping tale of the emotional fireworks that take place in the jury room of a murder trial has become the buzz of Key West. At each performance audiences are standing and cheering this powerful production. "Without a doubt, the Waterfront Playhouse begins its 70th season with a killer performance of 'Twelve Angry Men...Thrilling!'" - Solares Hill.

Directed by artistic director Danny Weathers, the production features a top notch ensemble of Key West actors. Running through January 9th , the production is sponsored by Rudy Molinet and Marquis Properties Realty. The 70th Platinum Season sponsors of the Waterfront are El Meson de Pepe and Comcast.

"Twelve Angry Men" is set in 1957, during a sizzling August afternoon in a Manhattan jury room. A jury of twelve men must decide the fate of a troubled 16-year old boy, who is accused of stabbing his father to death. What seems like an open-and-shut case becomes a twisted puzzle of prejudice and intrigue. One lone juror holds out for the possibility of the boy's innocence, attempting to persuade his fellow jurors that there is room for reasonable doubt. Faced with playing the hangmen, the twelve jurors must first face themselves. The Washington Post calls the play, "Theatrically irresistible. Sends a chill up the spine!"

Director Danny Weathers has assembled a powerhouse cast of familiar and new actors, to portray the twelve men (and the guard): Eric Cole (Juror 1), Kyle Caskey (Juror 2), Tom Murtha (Juror 3), Michael McCabe (Juror 4), Quincy Perkins (Juror 5), Lawrence Cohen (Juror 6), George Murphy (Juror 7), Bob Bowersox (Juror 8), George Gugleotti (Juror 9), Brian Furlong (Juror 10), Tony Konrath (Juror 11), Joe McMurray (Juror 12) and Karl Stahl as the Guard.

The action takes place on Michael Boyer's stunning period set that is complemented with exciting special effects. Carmen Rodriquez's 1950's costume designs reflect the individual characters' personalities, while David Bird has designed the evocative sepia-toned lighting.
