Souvenir is the story of Florence Foster Jenkins who is convinced she is an operatic diva, but in fact, is totally tone deaf. Using her own ample fortune, she hires an mediocre accompanist, Cosme McMoon, and the two teamed up in the hope of achieving success. McMoon needs money, and thus he is willing to play for a woman who cannot sing to save her life. Over the next dozen years, their bizarre partnership yielded hilariously off-key recitals that became the talk of New York, earned them cultish fame, and culminated in a sold-out performance at Carnegie Hall in 1944.Souvenir is a heartfelt, wickedly funny look at the limits of self-perception and the unpredictable nature of friendship.
