Spelling Bee is rather light fare compared to the heavy shows offered by local
theaters so far this were. But it kept me laughing throughout. Spelling bees
may never be the same. If you are looking for a good laugh and a plot
that’s easy to follow, this show is your feel good fix! The show is just good fun.
The entire cast puts in a great effort. Hats off to Eric Cole for the best “bed
head” look I have ever witnessed on stage. Marcy Park “speaks six languages”
and must be related to Margaret Cho. They are both too funny for words. The
show ran for three years on Broadway and won two Tony’s. If you need a good
laugh, then this show is the medicine for what ails you.
