The Waterfront Playhouse season continues……. With a twist!
The Waterfront Playhouse, whose production of the hit musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert, was cut short due to the pandemic, has taken a twist in offering Key West entertainment options.
Following the highly successful broadcast of The 39 Steps: A Radio Play, the theater will present a radio treatment of Sunset Blvd.. on Saturday May 16 at 8pm on US1Radio(https://us1radio.com/), 104.1 FM. Featuring Christopher Peterson, Brandon Beach, Laura Richardson, Willie Alsedek, David Black and John McDonald. Tune in to 104.1 at 8pm.
Then at 8pm May 30, Neil LaBute’s BASH will be live streamed from Wonderdog Studios. Patrons can go to https://vimeo.com/wonderstudios to log in for the stream (more information to come).
Directed by John McDonald, Bash is a series of three provocative one-act plays that examines the complexities of evil in everyday life. The first, Iphigenia in Orem, Ross Pipkin, a businessman confides to a stranger in a Las Vegas hotel room about a chilling crime; the second, Medea Redux, Lauren Thompson relates her complex and ultimately tragic relationship with her high school English teacher; and in A Gaggle of Saints, a young couple, Arthur Crocker and Belle Jampol, separately recount the violent events of an anniversary weekend in New York City. Bash was originally scheduled in April as a selection in the Waterfront’s On the Edge Series.
Then on June 13, a radio treatment of All About Eve will hit the air on 104.1 US1Radio Key West at 8pm.

The Award winning Waterfront Playhouse on Mallory Square, is please to announce their On The Edge series. "With the theatre located On The Edge of the water as well as most productions chosen and designed to be performed On The Edge of the stage, it seemed like a winning title", said Managing Artistic Director Tom Thayer. Although a few productions, such as the upcoming musical The Rocky Horror Show will have more production value, the majority of productions, such as Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, The Informer, Bash, and Trunk Material 2 are created and designed to be performed simply.
Another difference in On The Edge productions is the time.
