Ticket purchases for the Waterfront Playhouse’s 84th Season are now on sale!
Jordan Thomas Burnett and Jillian Todd will headline Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville opening October 20. A madcap love story, erupting volcano, tap dancing zombies and Buffett classics like Cheeseburger in Paradise, Margaritaville, It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere and Son of Sailor will fill the air on Mallory Square through November 12.
The cast will also feature Allyson Dodson McCormick, Olivia White, Ray West, Ervin Tumm, Mathias Maloff, Sarah McKinney, Barbara Mundy, John Swann and Andie Rose Roberts. And will feature a “Margarita Bar” onstage during intermission!
Then, get ready to rock with the hit musical Rock of Ages. This musical fantasy features songs from Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Poison, Twisted Sister and numerous others. It will play December 1 through 17. Then Mathias Maloff will take your reservation for the hilarious comedy Full Committed. Playing for only 2 performances, December 11 and 12, Maloff plays a reservationist for a new restaurant where patrons will do anything to grab a table! Maloff plays over 40 characters with a slip of an accent or turn of an attitude!
2023 will welcome the thriller AN INSPECTOR CALLS by J.B. Priestly. Playing January 12 through 28 (preview on January 11 and matinee on January 21) this thriller takes place on a night in April 1912, the prosperous upper middle-class Birling family, is visited by a man calling himself Goole, inspecting the murder of a young woman. It will star Dan Waller as the Inspector. Waller has appeared with the Goodman Theatre and Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago as well as the films Barefoot to Jerusalem, Repetition and TV shows Empire, Leverage and Chicago PD. David Black and Barbara Mundy will play Mr. and Mrs. Birling, Arthur Crocker and Jillian Todd will play the son and daughter while J. Michael Wright plays the finance and Mia Cawvey plays the maid. It will be directed by Patrick New. Opening February 14 and playing through March 18 will be the Cyndi Lauper/Harvey Fierstein musical hit KINKY BOOTS. Starring Richard Quint, this Tony Award winning musical about shoe factory owner Charlie and drag queen Lola proves we are not so different after all!
TRUNK MATERIAL 4 will play for one performance only on March 5 and in celebration of Tennessee Williams’ birth month a special presentation of Suddenly Last Summer on March 12 and 13. April brings Leslie Greene (The Year of Magical Thinking), Maggie McCollester and Jessica Miano Kruel in the winner of the 1994 Pulitzer Prize winner, Edward Albee’s THREE TALL WOMEN. April 6 through 22 with a preview on April 6 and matinee on April 15 and Gerri Louise Gates and Peggy Montgomery will headline the hilarious comedy ARSENIC AND OLD LACE playing May 11 through 27 (Preview May 10 and Saturday matinee May 20).
In celebration of Key West Pride Week Phillip Cole White hit the stage as HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH by Stephen Trask and John Cameron Mitchell will play June 7 through 10 with the touching play CHARLOTTE’S WEB by Joseph Robinette Based on the novel by E.B. White wrapping up the season on June 16 and 17.

"With the theatre located On The Edge of the water as well as most productions chosen and designed to be performed On The Edge of the stage, it seemed like a winning title", said Managing Artistic Director Tom Thayer. Although a few productions, such as the upcoming musical The Rocky Horror Show will have more production value, the majority of productions, such as Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, The Informer, Bash, and Trunk Material 2 are created and designed to be performed simply.
Another difference in On The Edge productions is the time.
