Actor/Singer

Melissa Penrose recently played Mrs. Fraiser in Stepping Out and is delighted to return to the stage after a twenty-year hiatus. Most days, you can find Penrose appearing in the classrooms of KWHS as a substitute teacher. She was the first woman TV news anchor in Minnesota and Pennsylvania. As a theatre major in college, Penrose played Aldonza in Man of LaMancha, Pirate Jenny in Three Penny Opera, Maggie “the cat” in Cat on A Hot Tin Roof, Adelaide in Guys & Dolls and Sally Bowles in Cabaret. As an alumna of Theatre L’Homme Dieu summer stock company, Penrose played the leads in Seven-Year Itch, Star Spangled Girl, The Birthday Party, and The Skin of Our Teeth. Penrose says, “Thank you to Waterfront Playhouse for giving me one last hurrah!”
