Phillip Cole White

Actor/Singer

Phillip grew up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas.  Having always known he wanted to be an actor he became highly involved in community theatre which led to local professional credits at Casa Mañana and Dallas Theater Center.  Following high school, he landed a job as an anime voice actor and ADR scriptwriter at Funimation/Crunchyroll, where he wrote an episode of the series One Piece. He graduated from Texas State University with a BFA in Musical Theatre. After college he moved to NYC where he found work in a national tour, Off-Broadway play festivals, cabarets, sketch comedy and stand up. After working regularly as a background actor and body double in television he became inspired to focus on TV and film. He did many student films and shorts before he booked a series regular in a pilot of a show called Pop Queens which scored him his SAG-AFTRA card. Soon after shooting the show he made the move to Los Angeles. His independent feature film Sheryl is currently winning many awards at various film festivals across the country. Phillip just finished shooting a supporting role in the feature film Mother Nature and the Doomsday Prepper.

All the while Phillip has been fortunate enough to be welcomed into the wonderful community of Key West. In 2017, Juliet Gray, co-founder of the Key West Theater invited him to come down to work as a resident actor in their season. Phillip originally met Juliet during his time at the summer intensive Broadway Theatre Project, where he participated in one of her classes. At the Key West Theater he was in 129 Miles to Walmart, Oklahoma Smith and the Pantheon of Annihilation, Penang as well as starring in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Phillip also co-directed the Key West Drama Clubs’ productions of High School Musical and Grease. He played Billy Bibbit in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest under the direction of Patrick New with Theatre XP (produced by Bob Bowersox) for the 2017 Summer Stage season. He also had the opportunity to work with the beloved Danny Weathers in The Legend of Georgia McBride in his final show of his epic run as artistic director of Waterfront Playhouse. His next appearance in town was at The Studios of Key West in The Pickpocket’s Daughter written by Neal Ruchman and directed by Murphy Davis. Phillip was last seen here reprising his role of Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the Waterfront Playhouse.

Phillip adores Key West and is always so grateful to have the opportunity to come down and work with this talented and generous community.
